Who regulates the bottled water industry?
The bottled water industry is regulated by the FDA, EPA, National Sanitation Foundation, International Bottled Water Association, local State Health Departments and many other governmental agencies.
Is the water tested?
Yes. We continually test our production runs to ensure quality and purity. State regulators test our sources and finished products weekly for bacteria. In addition, both the source and finished product are tested annually by an independent laboratory licensed by the EPA to ensure purity.
What is the source of the water?
Clear Mountain maintains three protected spring sources depending on your delivery location. All of our sources are state and federally certified and are continually monitored for purity to ensure the highest quality available.
What is spring water?
Spring water is defined by the Food and Drug Administration as water from an underground formation from which water flows naturally to the surface of the earth. For a product to be labeled "spring water" it must be collected directly from the spring.
Do you add chlorine or any other chemicals to your spring water?
No. Chlorine and other chemicals added to municipal tap water represent potentially harmful contaminants. Our spring water is a natural product with no additives or preservatives.
What is distilled water?
Water that is purified by a means of distillation, dionization, or reverse osmosis filtering to remove substantially all of the minerals. Our process is steam distillation where the water is raised to a boil and the steam is re-condensed through a filter.
How do you clean your returnable bottles?
Our bottles are visually inspected, one at a time, before being certified for reuse. They are then put into our state of the art bottle washer consisting of a four stage wash and rinse cycle including a hydro-jet spray blast, a 130 degree non-caustic soap wash, a pre-rinse and a sanitizing final rinse. Our bottle washing process ensures that our customers are receiving safe, clean bottles of Clear Mountain natural spring water.
